A film project in a form of an ultimate confession – artist’s creed.
At the beginning of Confessions Roee Rosen declares that now that he is about to die, he disavows a career replete with lies, scandals, and fake identities. and joins the confessional tradition that leads from St. Augustine to American TV.
The core of Confessions is a feature length film, in which Rosen’s confession is delivered by three women: illegal immigrants from Bulgaria, India and Ghana working in Israel. In consecutive parts of the film each woman presents herself as Roee Rosen. None of them speaks Hebrew, the language in which they present artist’s confession. Rosen symbolically possesses his heroines, treats them as media of his avowal, which they neither own nor understand its controversial content.
The Confessions are interlaced with musical interludes performed by The Roee Rosen Confessions Ensemble, a band featuring exclusively women musicians. Thus, after a career replete with gender-bending works and female effigies, Rosen’s confessions are an all-women affair.
Confessions are organized like a cinematic product: a feature-length film is accompanied by special features: assembly of cut sequences, so called gag-reel, a music video with an original soundtrack, as well as a trailer, a the video Confessions coming soon, in which Rosen “possesses” and takes on his nine-years-old son Hillel. Like in the full length film, the child speaks with his father’s words, in a language he doesn’t know (this time it is English), announcing Confessions as a breakthrough in the “history of perversion and pure evil."

Confessions Coming Soon is a trailer for a cinematic project Confessions of Roee Rosen. It is an advert that does not contain a single image from the film, it promotes. Instead, we see an Israeli child who is speaking English, the language he does not understand. The Child is Hillel, Roee Rosen’s nine years old son. At the time of the recording the boy was reading an English text, transcribed phonetically in Hebrew transliteration and displayed on teleprompter. The special marks on the screen signaled to the child moments when he was supposed to imitate the facial expressions and gestures of his father, hidden behind the camera. In this way, Hillel became the reversed figure of Pinocchio - a real boy transformed into a puppet by the vicious artist, referring to the sensationalist rhetoric of class B cinema on one side, and on another to the traditional topos of Dibbuk.
